Kura Life
Kura life is built around connection, wellbeing, and creating an environment where ākonga feel supported to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
From learning spaces to everyday essentials, we aim to make kura life welcoming, inclusive, and future-focused.
School Fees
There will be no school fees for the founding ākonga enrolling in July 2026 for the year 2026. We want whānau to be able to join the kura without this becoming a barrier in our opening phase. If there are any costs connected to optional activities or items later on, we will communicate these clearly and as early as possible.
Uniform
Uniforms will be provided to all Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei uri who are founding ākonga. We are excited to share the designs soon.
Devices
A device will be provided for founding ākonga to support learning at kura. We will give whānau more information about how devices will be used, expectations for care and responsibility, and whether there will be any move to a bring-your-own-device approach in future years.
Lunches
Lunches will be provided for ākonga in Terms 3 and 4 of 2026. We know whānau will want to understand how this will work day to day, including food options and how dietary needs or allergies will be managed, and we will share that detail before kura opens.
Transport
Transport support will be available in 2026 between Ōrākei and the kura. We are still confirming the practical details, including routes, pick-up and drop-off points, and timing. We will share this information with whānau as soon as it is finalised so families can plan confidently for the school day.
